Food is not simply energy for our bodies to burn. To say that it is, places it into the same category as oil and coal and the current industrial system. Food when understood as our most intimate connection with the earth we live on, not only gives us energy, but also has the power to transform the very fabric of society as we know it.

"We are what we eat", "Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are", and "Let food be thy medicine", are but a few statements that reflect our deepest understanding of our relationship with food. Our relationship with the earth is mirrored in our relationship with food. A change in the relationship we have with the earth, will first manifest in a change in our relationship with food.

Our bio-regional* enterprise Organic-Farm-Share has been developing now for over two decades and the past three years have seen the final stages of our plan take form. We have studied most models around the world that attempt to create a local food system and in so doing have gained valuable insight into what does and does-not work.
